Methodology
The canon, without the mystery.
The squad is regenerated from the current database snapshot. Selection first protects positional coverage, then uses overall rating and alphabetical order only as display tie-breakers. Equal leaders remain visibly shared.
1,284 eligible legends
Only published players with a profile, primary role and overall rating enter the selection pool.

Three goalkeepers and eight players per outfield department guarantee full-back, centre-back, midfield, wing and striker coverage.
Primary roles first
Each formation prefers natural roles. Alternative roles fill a slot only when they create a stronger valid XI.
Ties stay ties
Shared values produce shared leaders. Compound metrics name their ingredients and sample thresholds beside the result.
