Giacomo Losi

Roma supporters did not call Giacomo Losi “Core de Roma” because he was decorative. They called him that because he defended as if the shirt were a physical responsibility. A right back and centre back with exceptional consistency, he combined tight marking, anticipation and competitive courage with the intelligence to adapt across defensive roles. He was not tall for a central defender, but his timing, balance and reading of contact allowed him to survive against stronger forwards. Losi spent his entire senior club career at Roma, becoming captain and one of the club’s most enduring symbols through the 1950s and 1960s.
