A forward converted into a midfielder, Veremeyev became one of Dynamo Kyiv’s most intelligent rhythm-setters in the 1970s. His game sat between playmaking and structural labour: clean short combinations, tempo control, disciplined positioning and the ability to connect Blokhin’s vertical threat with the rest of the side.
