Viktor Kanevskiy

Before Blokhin became the obvious attacking reference in Dynamo mythology, Kanevskyi had already given Kyiv a centre-forward with authority, movement and scoring weight. His 86 Soviet league goals and presence at the 1962 World Cup place him among the club’s first major post-war forwards, not just a local hero with nostalgia attached. He attacked the box with timing, held the line well and gave the early-1960s Dynamo side a sharper, more credible edge against Moscow’s dominance.
