Brazil - StrikerÉlber, Giovane
A smooth and intelligent Brazilian striker, Giovane Élber was a finisher with technique, movement and a calmness that made difficult chances look oddly manageable. He was not the mythic Brazilian number 9 of World Cup folklore, partly because the national team barely opened the door for him, grazie tante, but at club level his quality was undeniable. At Bayern Munich, he became one of the Bundesliga’s most reliable forwards, combining sharp penalty-area instinct with clean link-up play and elegant first touches. Quick enough, clever enough and technically refined, he could score with both feet, combine outside the box and move defenders away from their comfort zone. Maybe not a generational icon, but absolutely a top-class club striker. A complete, graceful finisher slightly punished by timing, competition and the cruel bureaucracy of Brazil’s attacking depth.
