Šime Vrsaljko

Energy gave Vrsaljko his first tactical identity: a right-back who could repeat long runs, press aggressively and attack the outside lane without treating defensive recovery as optional, miracolo bellissimo. From Sassuolo to Atlético Madrid and Croatia’s 2018 World Cup final side, he offered intensity, crossing volume and physical courage in duels. Technically he was never a luxury full-back, but his timing, stamina and competitive edge made him extremely useful in high-pressure tournament football.
