There was a sharp, restless edge to Marius L?c?tu? that made him feel dangerous before the move had fully formed. Fast, aggressive and emotionally charged, he could play as a winger, second striker or wide forward, attacking space with explosive runs and a strong taste for physical confrontation. Steaua Bucure?ti was his kingdom: European Cup winner in 1986, penalty scorer in the final shootout against Barcelona, long term symbol of the club and one of the faces of Romanian football’s strongest era. His game mixed speed, direct dribbling, pressing, hard shooting and a competitive temperament that opponents felt immediately. He was not a delicate creator in the Hagi mould, nor a pure centre forward who lived only between the posts. L?c?tu? brought threat from movement and intensity, a forward whose technical quality was sharpened by aggression rather than softened by elegance.
